Nothing Between

As we climb the rocky hill
of our favorite island
I hold your hand in mine
and you cling to my shoulder.

In the vanishing light we sit
beside each other as one
waiting the sun to disappear.
My soul embraces your soul
until we are not two but one
dreaming of faraway places.

We swim in a hidden bay
while the world disappears.
When our bodies unite
we see our souls dancing
along the bridge of the moon
on their way home.
