UNKNOWN PAIN

It arrived again this morning
captivating my every thought
infecting my every action.

It invaded my every reflection
of past and future
avoiding my every trial
to catch it or chase it away.

I can not smile or even grin,
neither am I able to weep.
There is no disguise to hide
from this shapeless inferno.

My only craving is forgetfulness,
to go unconscious once again,
only to live this yesterday anew
when tomorrow morning dawns.
